“An American company got a contract that usually goes to Canadian veterans. The non-profit that normally gets it uses the money to support veterans, but the American company will not do that. I want the member to comment on this.”
“Mr. Speaker, there are two issues we are talking about. One is an American company’s getting a contract that is normally reserved for the veterans of Canada, those who served in our armed forces. However, more importantly, the non-profit Commissionaires uses the revenue to help veterans from the armed forces who otherwise would not have it. The company in question, Allied Universal, a United States-based company, is not going to provide that same service to our veterans. Can the member please comment on that?”
