“The head of the Bank of Canada said it is important for the government to stick to its spending limits. The government looks likely to break one of those limits. I want to know what my colleague thinks that will do to the markets and the economy.”

Mr. Speaker, earlier today, we heard the Governor of the Bank of Canada, at committee, talk about the importance of governments having a plan, the importance of fiscal anchors and framework, and the signals to the market if one fails to meet those fiscal anchors. It appears that the government is likely going to blow through one of its fiscal anchors. I am curious as to what my colleague thinks that might signal to markets and what that might mean for the overall future of our economy.
