“I disagree that people are not being pressured into medically assisted death. The current system is not working. Canadians are being pushed to end their lives without asking for it or consenting to it.”
Official Hansard

Madam Speaker, I humbly disagree. There are Canadians who have been suggested and coerced. I spoke of Miriam Lancaster, who went to the hospital with pain. It was suggested that she should have MAID. It happened that she had a fracture, and she ended up getting treatment and going home. The problem is that the current framework is not working. Canadians are still being coerced and pressured into ending their life without asking for it and, in some cases, without consent.
