Discussion · Government Orders
Luc Thériault Bloc Québécois
“The member should not disrespect my place in this House. People in Quebec pay federal taxes, and they elected me to represent them. I want the member to apologize for disrespecting me.”
“Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. My colleague need not show any contempt for my position here in the House. I was democratically elected. We pay taxes to the Canadian government, and as long as we pay taxes to the Canadian government, we will be represented in this Parliament. I would therefore ask the member to apologize for his contempt for me.”
