“We have the right to different beliefs, but we do not have the right to ignore human dignity. People should be allowed to make their own end-of-life choices with dignity.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, I am outraged this evening. We have the right to have different opinions. We have the right to hold certain beliefs and to disregard general statements or science. However, what we do not have the right to do is to disregard human dignity. I am hearing so much oversimplification right now. I am not saying that what I went through with my father, who had ALS, is right for everyone. That is not the case. We are asking if we can let people make their own end-of-life choices with dignity.
