“I want to know why the government waited so long to fix our health records system. Doctors have asked for these changes for ten years, but the Liberals let an earlier version of this bill die.”
“Madam Speaker, my colleague gave a good description of how the Liberals have allowed our health care system to fall behind. Medical associations have been calling for these changes for 10 years. In 2022, Canada’s Competition Bureau also highlighted the problems associated with electronic health records. However, the Liberals let Bill C‑72 die on the Order Paper when they called the election last year. I am glad they are finally taking action, but why did they wait so long?”
