“Canadians should be able to access their health records anywhere in the country. People, not companies or regional authorities, should decide who gets to see their health data. How does this bill make sure individuals have that control?”

Madam Speaker, I think there is a reasonable expectation among Canadians that their health data should move with them. I am from Saskatchewan. If I had a health incident here in Ontario, I would want to know that it would be very easy for my health data to be readily available to whoever is providing the service that I needed in that particular moment. I think it is important that it be up to the individual, in a sense, to decide where that data is available, so I wonder if the member has any ideas, with the bill, on how to make the individual, not so much a company and maybe not even a regional authority, the ultimate person to say that, yes, they want their health data to be available, either across the country or in certain provinces.
