“The government already spent 26 billion dollars over 10 years to let people access their health records across provinces. The problem is not money or agreement, but actually getting the work done. The Liberals can talk about sharing data, but it means nothing if they cannot deliver.”

Mr. Speaker, I talked a little about the agreement that John Horgan, Justin Trudeau and the former minister concluded. It was for over $26 billion, over a 10-year period, to solve the very basic problem of not being able to access health records in another province. I asked the former minister what was still blocking that. It is not for a lack of money or a lack of consensus. It is implementation. The member can say, “We’re all about interoperability. We’re all about data privacy and sharing of information.” That is great. I can say bravo. Good on them. However, if it does not happen, if that minister is pulling a lever that goes nowhere, it is all talk. That is a point that the Liberal government could probably learn from.
