“I want the House to join me in sending condolences to the family of Eric Bauza. He was an award-winning voice actor from my riding who voiced characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.”
“Mr. Speaker, I rise to mourn Eric Bauza, Scarborough’s very own Emmy Award-winning voice actor. Eric attended St. John Henry Newman Catholic High School in my riding of Scarborough Southwest, and from those hallways he went on to become the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and many other beloved characters. A proud Filipino Canadian, Eric broke barriers in an industry where very few look like him, inspiring young people across our communities. During the pandemic, he joined our virtual New Year’s celebration, bringing laughter and joy when we needed it the most. I want to quote Eric’s parting message from his high school yearbook: “Well, b4 I go, I’d like 2 say thanx 2 every1 who thought I was funny, & if I ever do b-come famous, party at my house!” I call on the members of the House to join me in offering our deepest condolences to Eric’s family and loved ones. Eric’s legacy lives on through the laughter that he gave to this world.”
