Mr. Speaker, today I want to talk about a strong, larger-than-life man who has become a legend in the Canadian Armed Forces: Chief Warrant Officer Marco Côté. This guy from back home began his military career in 1988 with Le Régiment du Saguenay. In 1999, he was selected to join Canada’s elite special operations unit, where he served for more than 20 years. Following the events of September 11, 2001, he was deployed to Afghanistan and was awarded the highest U.S. military honour, the Presidential Unit Citation. In 2003, he completed sniper training, and in 2010, he became the warrant officer in charge of the sniper team. In 2017, he was promoted to chief warrant officer and became the regimental sergeant major of the Canadian Special Operations Regiment. It would take too long to list all the awards he has earned, but I can say that Marco Côté is an exceptional leader, capable of the greatest sacrifices and endowed with a talent and courage that would put Rambo and Chuck Norris to shame. Mr. Côté, we are all very proud of you.
