“Government spending is driving up inflation and making life too expensive. Canadians cannot afford food, fuel, or housing, even with full-time jobs. In today's budget, the government must cut wasteful spending and lower the cost of gas and groceries.”
“Mr. Speaker, after more than a decade of inflationary Liberal policies, Canadians are concerned with the direction our country is going. News of Canada’s inflation rate rising is sad confirmation they have every reason to be. While the Prime Minister promised affordability, Canadians are watching the cost of housing, groceries, fuel, insurance, utilities and everyday living rise to increasingly unsustainable levels. Even though they are working full time at good-paying jobs, they are still struggling to afford necessities. Recent reports of increased food bank usage and people skipping meals because they cannot afford groceries are further confirmation of this sad reality. The Prime Minister is out of touch, his spending is out of control and Canadians are out of money. In today’s budget, Conservatives are calling on the Liberals to cut wasteful inflationary spending, keep their promised debt anchors and save Canadians money by reducing the cost of gas, groceries—”
