“The provinces are mainly responsible for health care, so the federal government cannot pay for all of it. We are still investing in mental health, but we must focus on our own responsibilities.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, I want to remind my colleague that, in sections 91 and 92, the primary driver of responsibility for health care is the provinces. While we know how important it is to make investments in health care and be a partner to our provinces, we cannot shoulder all of it. We are continuing to make very important investments in mental health, in supports. We are making sure we are serving all Canadians, but we want to stay in our lane and focus on the things we are responsible for at the federal government level.
