“We now spend more money on debt interest than on health care for the provinces. Why does the government think paying bankers and bondholders is better than helping patients?”
“Mr. Speaker, my colleague just made reference to the health care system. Obviously, I assume we have all heard many stories of families or loved ones facing challenges going through our health care system. I am curious what the member thinks about the fact that the totality of all of the money we send to provinces to deliver that health care system has been now dwarfed by the interest on the debt the Liberal government has accrued, and this will be getting worse year over year. Why is it better to send money to bankers and bondholders than to help people in our health care system?”
