Agriculture and Agri-Food

During question period on agriculture, Liberal MP Dominique O’Rourke asked how the government’s one-billion-dollar fund would help farmers and protect Canada’s food system from global supply-chain disruptions, saying food security is national security. The Minister of Agriculture replied that the government has a $3.2-billion national food security strategy and is spending $1 billion to improve how food is stored, moved, and sold, which he said would support farmers and strengthen the food supply.Written by AI from the debate.
