“Mr. Speaker, I appreciated my colleague’s comments on the Canada Strong fund. I think it is a wonderful opportunity for Canadians to invest in Canada. To have that opportunity, I think is something that is being provided for here. The Conservatives have come out against it. We often hear Conservatives being against the Infrastructure Bank, for example. It is a bank that, along with the federal government, has lured billions of dollars of investment, generated thousands of jobs and had major projects in every region of the country. The contrast seems to be that the current government believes in investing in Canada, in infrastructure and in Canadians, while the Conservatives tend to just want to get out of the way, as they often say. I am wondering if the member could provide her thoughts on why it is really important that, as a government, we invest in Canadians and in infrastructure.”
