Mr. Speaker, the world is changing, and so are the threats facing our country. Last week, our government launched the plan for a stronger Canada, our first national security strategy in more than 20 years. It starts with a simple truth. Today, economic security is national security. That is why our plan is focused on securing our supply chains and strategic industries; rebuilding our Canadian Armed Forces; protecting Canadians from foreign interference, espionage and organized crime; and modernizing our intelligence capabilities. In London West, we know what this means. Our workers, our manufacturers and our innovators help power Canada’s economy, and they are part of how we keep this country strong and keep this country moving forward. National security is not just about protecting our borders. It is about protecting our people, our jobs, our livelihoods and the future that we want to build together. That is why this plan is really important at this particular moment, and this plan is going to deliver exactly what Canadians are needing in this moment.
