Mr. Speaker, Positioning · 205 words they are the masters of a looming disaster. Job one for the Liberal government should have been saving Canadians money on fuel, food and homes. Instead, they added $765 billion in new debt.1 The Liberals keep claiming Conservatives are talking down Canada. We are not. We are calling out a government whose out of control spending keeps Canadians down and dependent on the government. After 11 years, the Liberals have one answer for every problem, 2 and it is another program, another bureaucracy, another billion dollars. They drive up the cost of living then hand Canadians another government program. That is not compassion; it is dependency by design. The Liberals measure success by more spending, more programs and more sign-ups. For the Liberals, programs are more important than people, spending money is more important than getting results and growing government is more important than Canadians standing on their own feet. Success should not be measured by how many Canadians are signing up for programs, but by how many Canadians get off them. The Liberal culture of dependency is a dangerous way of thinking. As long as the Liberals keep governing this way, they will keep making life worse for the Canadians they are trying to help. Positioning
