“It is dangerous to let cabinet make these decisions. The government ignored labour unions and chose big business over workers. This bill should protect workers, not corporate interests.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, I disagree with my colleague on one thing. I do not want to be in the hands of cabinet. That seems like a dangerous place to be. I think the Liberals are not interested in listening. There was a consultation process. Labour unions representing millions of Canadians were very clear on what they needed to see from this legislation. Instead of actually listening to labour experts, the labour unions and the workers from across this country, they made a choice to stand with corporate interests and to stand with big business against workers in this country. It is workers who build our economy. It is workers who pay taxes. It is workers who contribute to our communities. It is workers we need to be protecting.
