“Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for asking her question in French. I appreciate it. That does not mean that we agree, but I am still appreciative. From what I heard from my children, the Mauricie youth council and stakeholders, I can say that this bill is necessary. It enacts laws like the digital safety act and digital safety commission of Canada act. It creates a new commission. We really want to put the tools in place to achieve our goal of holding the digital platforms to account and ensuring that they do what it takes to protect our children here in Canada.”
