“We should keep Canadian tax dollars from going to the United States. The Conservatives say they want this, but they also want public money to fund oil and gas pipelines. Most oil and gas companies are foreign-owned, and 60% are American-owned. I want them to admit this is a contradiction.”
“Madam Speaker, today’s debate is primarily about Canada’s sovereignty and the need to ensure that Canadian taxpayers’ money is not sent to the United States. s there not a contradiction in the Conservatives’ position, given that one of their priorities is to support the oil and gas industry, including by building pipelines using public funds, in other words taxpayers’ money, when not only are 80% of the companies in the oil and gas sector foreign-owned, but 60% of them are American-owned?”
