“The member opposite voted against our plans to help families pay for groceries, child care, and other costs. He cannot lecture us on helping people afford life.”
“Mr. Speaker, let me help the member opposite. He could have voted for the groceries and essentials benefit and saved a family of four $1,900. He could have voted for the child benefit and saved families $7,000 a year. He could have voted for child care and saved families $16,000 a year. He could have voted for a tax cut and saved families another $840 a year. He voted against every single one of those affordability measures. We will take no lessons from him on affordability.”
