“The budget has some good things in it, but the government still needs to be careful with its spending. The member has tried to get the government to promise it will stick to its spending limits, but they have not answered. I am asking the member if he thinks the government should stick to those limits in tomorrow's budget.”
“Mr. Speaker, the member for Wellington—Halton Hills North has tried for the last several days to get an indication from the government as to its commitment to its stated goals of relying on fiscal anchors. A number of good things the member spoke to are covered in budget 2025, but it has to be done in the overall context of fiscal responsibility. Due to the lack of responses the House received during question period, I wonder if the member would opine on his view of whether the government should be held to fiscal anchors that it states, and whether they should be carried forward, let us say, even into the budget tomorrow.”
