“Every premier asked for more health care money, but the federal government did not give it to them. If the government truly wants to build a strong country, it should listen to the provinces.”
“Madam Speaker, I would like to take this opportunity to say one thing. We often hear about the desire to build Canada strong, about development and about the need to work together. I find it hard to understand why, when all the provincial and territorial premiers spoke out so loudly, forcefully and unanimously to say that they needed health transfers, it all came to nothing. It would have been such a great opportunity to show that the government does indeed want to build Canada strong.”
