“Health care is a provincial job, and we must respect that. But we should focus this bill on what patients need. That will make it easier for the provinces to agree.”
“Mr. Speaker, it was the member opposite who mentioned that if we look at this through the lens of the client, the patient, we will be able to come to a consensus on how it needs to work. Absolutely, this falls under provincial jurisdiction, and we have to make sure that we are maintaining that jurisdiction as we move forward. However, the conversation would become easier between the provinces if we looked at it through the mindset of the patient. That is where we really need to focus in this legislation.”
