“The member must have read the wrong budget. Our budget includes $22 billion to make life more affordable, on top of $100 billion already in place. We are taking action to help Canadians with housing, grocery costs, and a lower gas tax.”

Mr. Speaker, Canadians watching at home are probably wondering whether the hon. member has read the right budget. The 2026 budget we have just presented contains $22 billion in measures to make life more affordable for Canadians, on top of the $100 billion in affordability measures already in place. On this side of the House, we know that more needs to be done on housing, and that is exactly what we are doing. We recognize that we need to help Canadians cope with the cost of groceries, because this is a weekly concern for people. We recognize that we need to do more to help people by reducing the gas tax. That is exactly what we have done. We have taken action on the three affordability challenges facing Canadians. We will continue to be there for them every step of the way.
