Public Safety

During Question Period, the Conservative leader raised a shooting at a synagogue in Belleville that took place on Yom Kippur, noting that congregants had to take cover and that a police officer was injured while protecting them, and asked the Prime Minister to join in supporting the officer and the Jewish community and to speak out against violence. The Prime Minister responded with condolences for the officer, his family, and Jewish communities in Belleville and across Canada, said the government stands against all violence and hate, and called for unity in keeping Canadians safe.Written by AI from the debate.
