“Gas and diesel cost too much because of high federal taxes and rules. The Conservatives have a plan to drop all federal taxes on diesel until Canada Day and make it easier to produce fuel here. This will lower costs for driving, farming, and shipping. I want the Liberals to support our plan.”
“Mr. Speaker, in my region, people often ask me how our country, with the fourth-largest oil reserves on earth, pays such high prices at the pump. A lost Liberal decade of high taxes and red tape has held back Canadian energy projects to process more Canadian-made fuel. We cannot control the global price of diesel, but we can reduce the costs that Ottawa adds. Our Conservative emergency fuel relief plan would eliminate all federal taxes on diesel sales until at least Canada Day, eliminate red tape on diesel production and bolster the production of Canadian-made diesel. Our plan would immediately reduce the cost for members of my community to drive, ship, log and farm, while creating more Canadian jobs down the line. Will the Liberals support our Conservative plan to give relief to Canadians?”
