The Economy

During question period on the economy, the Conservatives raised the rising cost of living, citing a study that a traditional Thanksgiving meal costs 10% more than last year, and said that after eleven years of Liberal government life is too expensive and the Liberals want to raise taxes while they want Canadians to keep more of their money. The Liberals pointed to what they called the facts, saying housing costs have fallen for 24 consecutive months, housing construction has increased, agreements have been reached across Canada to build more affordable housing, and a new two-billion-dollar fund will help families lower energy costs, while saying the opposition has no plan to help Canadians.Written by AI from the debate. “Thanksgiving dinner costs 10% more this year. After 11 years of Liberal rule, life costs too much. The Liberals want to raise taxes, but we want Canadians to keep more of their money.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, yesterday, on TVA news, reporter Pierre-Olivier Zappa talked about a study that found that, this year, a traditional Thanksgiving meal will cost 10% more than last year. He even suggested considering an alternative to the traditional meal. That is where we are at after 11 years of Liberal governance. Getting together as a family should never be a luxury. The Liberals want to raise taxes. We want Canadians to have more money in their pockets. Can the Liberals understand that after 11 years of their rule, we are experiencing an affordability crisis in Canada?
