“I want to congratulate Whitby's newly elected town council and re-elected Mayor Elizabeth Roy. I look forward to working with them as our town grows. I also thank everyone who ran in the election for their willingness to serve.”

“Mr. Speaker, public service is not an easy path. It means putting one’s name forward, opening oneself up to scrutiny, and devoting countless hours to improving the lives of others. Those who choose to serve do so because they care deeply about their community and the people who call it home. Today, I want to congratulate the newly elected members of Whitby town council, and the mayor-elect, Elizabeth Roy, on her re-election. I am very excited to continue our work together to help Whitby thrive. As Whitby continues to grow, Mayor Roy and council will play an important role in helping our community seize new opportunities, while preserving the quality of life that makes Whitby such a great place to live, work and raise a family. I also want to thank every candidate who stepped forward in the election. Regardless of the outcome, Whitby is stronger because of their willingness to serve. I thank them for their commitment to Whitby.”
