“Canadians are struggling to afford food, housing, gas, and medicine. Instead of helping, the government wastes billions on corporations, the military, and oil pipelines. I want today's budget to invest in affordable housing, cheaper groceries, and better health care instead.”

Mr. Speaker, people across Canada are struggling with the high cost of living. Food is expensive, housing is out of reach, and gas prices are out of control. Families are having to choose between paying rent and filling their prescriptions, but instead of providing real relief to Canadians, Liberals are wasting hundreds of billions of dollars on corporate handouts, excessive military spending and oil pipelines the private sector will not touch. Will the government change course and deliver meaningful investments in non-market housing, affordable groceries and better health care in today’s budget?

We are stepping up to support them with affordability measures. We have cut taxes on income, housing, fuel and new business investment. We have stepped up with the groceries and essentials benefit. We have made the national food program permanent, saving families hundreds of dollars per month all across the country. I know the member opposite supports that program, and it is great to see him so excited to—
