Davidson presses the government on affordability and jobs in York—South Simcoe, asking for emergency diesel price relief, natural gas lines and hydro for local businesses, and action to save aluminum and auto jobs. He argues by leaping from one example to a sweeping verdict, as when a constituent watching her children struggle shows an entire generation’s promise “slip further out of reach”. He often presses for a plain yes-or-no answer, as in “Is there an affordability crisis in Canada, yes or no?”Written by AI from their statements. Updated .

Mr. Speaker, I listened intently, and in justifying this motion, the government House leader called this principle “undeniable”. Does the Liberal government not understand that the entire purpose of parliamentary committees is to ensure that nothing is undeniable, that every action, every claim, every program and every policy is examined and accessed on its own merits? A government that declares itself “undeniable” has told the House exactly why it must not be trusted with committee control. This control is control that Canadians did not give in a general election.
