“We have made promises to our veterans, but systems must change after 100 years. The government must buy goods and services based on what is best for everyone today.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, I appreciate my colleague’s valuable work with me on the health committee. Yes, we do have a social contract with our veterans, and there are established practices, but of course we talk about things that have been going on for over 100 years. A hundred years is a long time. There are going to be changes in our processes. Our government procurement decisions have to be made with the best decisions for all stakeholders in Canada at the time.
