“We are rebuilding our military and investing more money in it. We met the NATO spending target five years early. Our defence industry makes over 17 billion dollars a year and supports more than 81,000 jobs. We must stand together in this House to protect Canadian sovereignty with a strong military.”
“Mr. Speaker, Canada is proudly rearming, rebuilding and reinvesting in the Canadian Armed Forces. The member is aware of this. We have met the NATO 2% target five years ahead of schedule and accelerated our investments to put Canada on a path to meet our new target. He is aware of that as well. Canada’s defence industry is a major contributor to our economy, generating more than $17 billion in annual revenues and supporting over 81,000 jobs across the country. Now more than ever, we need to be united in this House. We need to reaffirm Canadian sovereignty by strengthening our military. This is exactly what we are doing.”
