“Three out of every four people who die by suicide are men. This month is Movember, which focuses on men's health. Our government is working on a plan to support the health and well-being of men and boys. I want men to know they are not alone. If you need help, you can call 988. We should all talk about men's mental health.”

Mr. Speaker, as we enter another November, I rise to recognize the Movember movement for men’s health. Movember brings light to some of the darkest topics, such as suicide. Unfortunately, three out of every four suicides are men. As someone who has nearly lost several people I care about deeply to suicide attempts, this cause hits close to home. Our government is advancing Canada’s first federal men and boys’ health and well-being strategy to better support men’s physical and mental health. Today, I would like to speak to the men out there. They may not realize it all the time, but there are always people they can turn to. The world needs them, and they are enough. They do not have to face their challenges alone. In a moment of distress, remember that they can dial 988 and find someone to help them through. This Movember, let us make time for conversations. Even when uncomfortable, they can make all the difference.
