Build Canada Homes Act
A bill to create a new federal Crown corporation called Build Canada Homes, with the goal of rapidly building more affordable housing. The Liberals spoke in favor, arguing a new flexible entity is needed to get housing built faster. The Bloc expressed tentative support but questioned why the existing CMHC couldn't do this role. The Conservatives argued the bill creates unnecessary bureaucracy when faster private sector solutions are needed.
