Mr. Speaker, I want to start by wishing you, the Prime Minister and all Canadians a happy Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, for many families, the cost of their Thanksgiving meal will take some of the joy out of the day. According to Dalhousie University, the cost of a Thanksgiving meal has risen by 10% since last year. One year after this Prime Minister came to power, despite his promises on affordability, things cost more. When will Canadians be able to afford a Thanksgiving meal?

Mark Carney, Prime Minister

Mr. Speaker, first of all, I would like to join the member for Toronto—St. Paul’s and all members of the House in marking this tragic anniversary. I would also like to join the Leader of the Opposition in wishing all Canadians a happy Thanksgiving. The government has taken measures to help with affordability, to the tune of $20,000 per family.
