“I want the government to require union labour agreements on all public building projects. Union workers are safer, do higher quality work, and are 17 percent more productive.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, workers and their families need good, safe, rewarding jobs across Canada. In the construction sector, these jobs come from unionized companies powered by skilled labour. The government can support them by requiring labour agreements on all taxpayer-funded infrastructure projects. This is smart economics. Productivity from unionized labour is 17% higher than for open-shop contractors. Will the Liberals mandate project labour agreements for all infrastructure deals to generate the high-quality results that unionized building trades deliver?
