“Our investments help communities in real ways. In my area, the government is spending 66 million dollars to bring safe drinking water to Tyendinaga. I have a question for the parliamentary secretary.”

Madam Speaker, the government was elected on a promise to invest in ourselves and strengthen our communities, and we are doing just that, but these investments go beyond dollars and cents. Each of these investments make a real difference in people’s lives. In my own region, the government has announced the transformational investment of $66 million in the community of Tyendinaga, with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, to expand access to safe, reliable drinking water. This is reconciliation in action. Can the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure—

Official Hansard

Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague so very much for his tireless advocacy for eastern Ontario as part of our caucus. Through the build communities strong fund, our government is investing billions of dollars from coast to coast to coast to improve the lives of Canadians. Our announcement of more than $66 million to extend the water main in Tyendinaga means water security, support for housing and progress on our work to ensure everyone in this country has access to safe drinking water. This is the work our constituents across the country expect from our government, and we will keep delivering for the Great Lakes and every part of Canada.
