“A judge ruled that three men who murdered a couple in Abbotsford can apply for early parole. Liberal policies put violent criminals ahead of victims. I want the government to explain how letting killers out early keeps Canadians safe.”
“Mr. Speaker, in 2022, Arnold and Joanne De Jong were brutally murdered and tortured in their Abbotsford home by three men, one of whom had arrived in Canada on a student visa less than a month before the killings. Despite this senseless act of violence, a B.C. judge ruled that the killers could apply for early parole. Weak Liberal policies have created an environment where violent offenders feel emboldened and their interests are put ahead of victims’ rights. Can the Liberals explain how giving convicted murderers an earlier path to freedom protects the safety of Canadians?”
