Mr. Speaker, now we have seen it all. The Conservatives stand up in the House and claim to defend seniors, yet they lowered the retirement age to 65, which would have left hundreds of thousands of elderly people across the country financially vulnerable. They also opposed the 10% increase in the GIS for those aged 75 and over. It is absolutely mind-boggling to see them stand up and earnestly claim to be defending seniors. On this side of the House, we will always defend seniors. We will always fight for a strong economy that works for everyone.

Mr. Speaker, on this side of the House, we understand that Canadians are facing all sorts of challenges that are affecting their ability to cope with the cost of living and meet their various obligations. However, this side of the House has solutions that return purchasing power directly back to Canadians and, at the same time, promote job creation so that we are not just reacting in the short term, but making sure we can build Canada over the long term. That is what we are doing, and we would like our colleagues to work with us on that.
