“Mr. Speaker, I rise today to offer my full support to the mayor of Laval, Stéphane Boyer, who is currently recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumour. For several years now, Mr. Boyer has dedicated himself to serving the Laval community. Public life demands a deep commitment and many sacrifices, both for elected officials and for their loved ones. Today, I want to express my solidarity with Mr. Boyer, his family and his loved ones in the face of an ordeal that requires a great deal of courage and resilience. Having witnessed my own mother’s battle with this disease, I am deeply moved by those who are going through it, and my heart goes out to him during this difficult time. I offer him my full support and wish him strength and courage so he can one day return to his duties. On behalf of the community of Alfred-Pellan, I wish the mayor a speedy recovery.”
