What Bill C-268 would do

The bill would require the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to set up a process to confirm that mobile network coverage data provided by Canadian carriers is accurate. It would also require the Minister of Industry to maintain and update the Spectrum Policy Framework for Canada. In addition, the bill would create review and reporting requirements for this framework.

Mr. Speaker, I congratulate the member for Campton—Stanstead on her bill and her speech, which was rich in content and information. It was well researched. I would like to come back to the case of unused spectrums. Why do the cell phone companies choose not to develop them, in the hon. member’s view? To me that is absurd.
