Fisheries and Oceans

In question period on fisheries and oceans, the Conservatives asked whether a fishing company that was found guilty of firing Canadian workers and hiring temporary foreign workers in their place could still receive public subsidies, saying government funding had continued after the finding. The fisheries minister said her decisions are based on information from the department and consultations with communities, that she would not comment on what she called conspiracy theories, and that she is proud of the government’s work.Written by AI from the debate. Mr. Speaker, I can assure all members of this House that when I make decisions as the fisheries minister, they are always balanced, with information through the department and consultations with people in the communities. I am not going to comment on conspiracy theories, but I will say I am proud of the work we do in the department.
