“I want to thank and congratulate the cleanup crew in Trois-Rivières and the organizers behind it. The project keeps our city clean and helps people experiencing homelessness get back into the workforce.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, today I want to highlight the work of the Brigade de propreté, a cleanup crew in Trois-Rivières. Every day, this cleanup crew helps make our city cleaner and more welcoming. This wonderful initiative is the result of a partnership between Point de rue, an organization that works with people experiencing homelessness, and the Société de développement commercial du centre-ville de Trois‑Rivières, or SDC, which, incidentally, is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. This initiative goes far beyond maintaining our public spaces. It also supports people who want to get their lives back on track, by helping them return to the workforce and regain their confidence. I want to congratulate Karine Trahan, from Point de rue, and Ève‑Marie Marchand, from the SDC, for their commitment to establishing this cleanup crew. I want to congratulate the entire cleanup crew and thank them for contributing every day to keeping Trois‑Rivières clean and making our community proud.
