“British Columbia just elected a Conservative government for the first time in nearly 100 years. This will make life more affordable, bring back safe streets, and build up the province's resources. I congratulate the new premier, Lorne Doerkson, and the organizers who worked for five years to make this happen. Federal Conservatives are ready to support them.”
Official Hansard

Mr. Speaker, common sense is coming back to British Columbia. For the first time in nearly 100 years, my fellow British Columbians have ended a decade of NDP rule and elected a new Conservative government, one that shares our goal and vision to make life more affordable in B.C., to bring back safe streets and fiscal sanity and to unleash the true potential of B.C.’s resource economy. The resurrection of this movement and this party did not happen overnight. Over the past five years, I have been honoured to work alongside a number of passionate and principled individuals to bring this vision into reality. They include Angelo Isidorou, Aisha Estey, Sacha Peter and Harman Bhangu. I would also like to congratulate Premier-elect Lorne Doerkson for his crushing victory and for meeting this unprecedented moment with steadfastness, resilience and grace. The future is once again bright in B.C., and I know that Conservatives here in our nation’s capital are ready to play our part.
